Another Reminder

The LORD is good to those who wait for Him,
To the person who seeks Him.
It is good that he waits silently
For the salvation of the LORD.
– Lamentations 3:25-26

What a great reminder to be actively serving God. “What?” you might say. “Pastor Ed, it says, ‘wait’ not serve.” But did you know that in Hebrew the words translated “wait” and “waits” are quite different?

The second “wait” has the usual English meaning… “to wait.” But for the second, my Strong’s says it comes from a word that means “to bind” as in to twist together; and according to the ESV Study Bible, means “[n]ot passive, listless sitting, but faithful serving until God acts.”

Are you serving Him until He takes the next step in His plan?
