What "Day"?

This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24, NASB)

Rather than a devotional this time on the blog, I have a challenge for you readers. What “day” is the psalmist referring to?

Study the context then let me know by email or by commenting below.

  1. Eleven days and no one has taken up my challenge!

  2. Ed - I thought there might be some takers by now but I think it is simply what began at Christ's birth, Emanuel, and ended at His death and resurrection --- the day of the Lord, our risen Savior. Simeon said "My eyes have seen your salvation," and Jesus in Luke 20:17 "the stone the builders rejected has become the capstone" speaking, of course, about Himself. Fred

  3. The short answer is that is the day that God brought salvation to mankind through His Son Jesus the Christ. His death burial and resurrection. The broader answer is in Luke 4:18-19 "... He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." The life and lifetime of Christ. Personally it is when you receive and believe that message.
