Our Thanks

Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name. - Hebrews 13:15

The term “sacrifice of praise” is used in several Psalms called the “sacrifice of thanksgiving.” Unlike those instances, here it does not involve animal sacrifice. Rather, our sacrifice is vocalizing praise and thanksgiving to the name of God. You do that, don’t you?

Building?

For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God. – Hebrews 3:4

We need to build our houses, lives, families, churches, careers, everything knowing who is behind it all. Unless we acknowledge Him, He has no need to bless our meager efforts.

Sustainer

And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power… - Hebrews 1:3

He is not only the Creator (yesterday’s post) He is also the One who supports and sustains all things. That means that without Him everything would cease to exist – even Cody.

It's Exposed, Already

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. - Hebrews 4:12

Living outside of God’s word in faithless disobedience for even a moment does not go unnoticed. God has personally given us His word, living, active, sharp, piercing, and judging. It will find you out. Every word, deed, thought, and intention is known to Him. Confess (agreed) regularly your dependence on His word and grace.

Jesus Gets It

God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, 2in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. - Heb 1:1-2

[I’m back from my weeks of Bible camp at Elohim and Utmost.]

Jesus gets it all. What I own. What you own Jesus gets. What Satan rules over for this time Jesus gets. My life as I live it Jesus gets. He is “heir” of all things. Let’s commit to living for Him by serving Him better.

He Equips

Heb 13:20-21 Now the God of peace… equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

We must rely on God when we desire to serve Him. The more we do in our strength the less we do His will. In your home, job, and ministry today trust Him to use you and provide for you perfectly. He will.
