Assurance

In John 3 Jesus said, “He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” (v.26)

John himself later wrote, “And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.” (1 John 5:11-12)

These are two of the clearest statements in Scripture for both what we need to do, “believe,” but also for assurance of our eternal life. Do you have that assurance?

Premeditated

“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13, NASB)

Many men and women have performed heroic acts of self-sacrifice to save others’ lives. Seldom are these human acts premeditated as Jesus’ certainly was. Before Adam was created He knew of that fateful day and the pain he would suffer for your sins. Give Him thanks.

Pray to Tell

Talk Like Yoda Day, it is, so…
To him Jesus said, “The way, am I, and the truth, and the life; to the father but through me no one comes.” -John 14:6

People find God in various ways. Salvation is always “by grace through faith” but how one gets there varies with as many people who have gotten there. Usually one must read or be told the Gospel and understand it intellectually. Then by faith accept it as true, repent, and begin to trust Jesus’ way, truth, and life. Love Today

John 15:12-13 - "This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.

Jesus said this the night before He was to die. And He knew they would shortly fully understand His teaching that loving God and others is far more important than being concerned with self. He certainly was not. Today will you love others?

Believing Is Seeing

John 20:29 - Jesus said to him, "Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed."

When it comes to faith we are not disadvantaged compared to Jesus’ original followers. Sure they got to meet and spend time with Him in the flesh but we get to spend time with Him and meet with Him in spirit whenever we desire. In 2 Corinthians 5:7 Paul wrote, “for we walk by faith, not by sight.” Keep your faith strong by spending time with Him and your Bible every day.
