How Much Is There?

For Your lovingkindness is great to the heavens
And Your truth to the clouds. (Psalm 57:10, NASB)

The “heavens” refers to the highest thing known to man at the time. So it is not saying that God’s mercy is great in Heaven – though it is, for there reside the saints – but that it is as great as a man can envision! And so is God’s truth. And in actuality His mercy and truth extend beyond that for God has an inexhaustible supply of both.

How about you?
Do you extend mercy to others without effort?
Do you live the truth and ensure others have the opportunity?

What "Day"?

This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24, NASB)

Rather than a devotional this time on the blog, I have a challenge for you readers. What “day” is the psalmist referring to?

Study the context then let me know by email or by commenting below.

Listening-to-God Skills

I will hear what God the Lord will say;
For He will speak peace to His people, to His godly ones;
But let them not turn back to folly.
– Psalm 85:8

God will always answer our prayers. However, besides patiently waiting for His answer, many times we need to take time to listen. The Sons of Korah prayed and then in this verse promised to listen for God’s answer. I’m sure like me you sometimes get impatient but we need to learn to trust God and His timing for all things. We need to learn to listen to Him to speak to us about His loving, purposeful answer. I’ll pray for your listening-to-God skills today.
