Consider

"But be sure to fear the LORD and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you." (1 Samuel 12:24, NIV)

A good way to “consider what great things [H]e has done for you” is to tell someone else. Email, call, or text to a friend something great thing the Lord has done for you this morning.

Everlasting Life

“Though the fig tree should not blossom And there be no fruit on the vines,
[Though] the yield of the olive should fail
And the fields produce no food,
Though the flock should be cut off from the fold
And there be no cattle in the stalls,
Yet I will exult in the LORD, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. (Habakkuk 3:17-18, NASB)

Your circumstances should never cause you to stop rejoicing for the Lord’s salvation. No matter what is going on in your life, Jesus still died for your sins, God has accepted His payment for them, and you are going to everlasting life with all that that entails.

Make Sense to You?

“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor [the] covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, NASB)

Here is one of the verses many people in today’s politically correct America choose to forget. It is also one that mainline churches ignore in order to be “welcoming to all” and attack more people as though the goal is to get them in the church – the goal should be to bring them to Christ’s judgment.

People will ask, “How can you think that way? My God would not condemn people born that way.” 

Their statement makes three errors:

1) I do not “think” that way. I believe it because God said it!

2) When they say “My God” they do not refer to the One True God but to the one they’ve made in their own image.

3) Homosexuals were not “born” to be that way. God NEVER tells us “thou shalt not” and then designs us to make us do it. Sin is always a personal choice.

To Know Him

“Ah Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You...” (Jeremiah 32:17, NASB)

The prophet makes three great declarations here:

1. God made everything

2. He used His power and strength to do so

3. There is nothing God can’t do

People who do not realize God’s power believe in the myths of evolution and atheism. We need to know God as He is, not what we want Him to be. If we try to make God in our image, it’s only a god; not the God Jeremiah speaks of.
