Speaking ill of someone, anyone, is wrong. I can think of a rare exception: seeking or sharing information to be able to restore a sinning brother (Mt 18). So stop it. Nip it in the bud. Tell the gossiper to stop, or maybe better, just leave the room. Confront the liar with her sin. Refuse to listen to a mudslinger. And, friend, always consider the words coming out of your mouth.
