Unity with God

“I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” - John 5:30

Why was it Jesus could do nothing on His own initiative? He certainly had the knowledge, ability, and power. It was a matter of unity. He was so intimately in tune with His Father that they always worked together. Humanly, we can never be that in tune, but we can know the Father’s will for us and act accordingly. Do not let outside circumstances or internal attitudes come between you and your Father.
