The ESV Study Bible
says, “He is not one of many; He is not superior among inferior gods; He is not
even the best of all; He is the only God, and He
will have his people know and rejoice in this truth.” Too often we allow gods
to interfere with our focus on the one true God. Make a list right now of
things that have gotten in your way with God. Having that knowledge should help
when you are next tempted to elevate them above Elohim.
