"For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? - Matthew 6:25
The “for this reason” means the interpretation must be tied to what has gone before – in this case vv. 19-24 – where you are encouraged to make right choices. When you do so, there is no reason to be anxious. God is going to take care of all things. He gives the two examples of birds (v. 26) and lilies (v. 28). When you are anxious you display a lack of trust in God, who promises that He will care for “all these things” (v. 33).
