The fool has said in
his heart, "There is no God."
They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds;
There is no one who does good. -- Psalm 14:1

Did you know that all three Hebrew words translated as
“fool” speak to the individual’s moral condition, not his intellectual ability?
I tend to believe that in this instance David is not even referring to the atheists
but to those who reject God’s wisdom for their lives; they would say God is not
involved in the affairs of man. The result is corruption, detestable activities,
and nothing of value.
Mr. T might say, “There is a God, fool. Read the Bible.”
